However, non-juried artists and photographers, of all ages, can join in the fun too. On Saturday there is a Quick Draw competition for all the other artists who would like the chance to compete in this very popular painting event.
If you would like to have a painting adventure, check out their website at www.pleinaireaston.com
The nearby towns and marinas are also wonderful places to find some creative inspirations.

There is nothing quite like sitting outside and painting. However, sitting outside and painting in Annapolis next to the waterfront is always an adventure. I like to paint boats and water, water and boats. But it is also fun to people watch, duckling watch, and seagull watch (and maybe sip a bloody Mary).
Every June, Maryland Hall and volunteers put on a wonderful event called Paint Annapolis. Juried artists come to paint for a week. But non-juried artists can come on Saturday for a special competition called Dueling Brushes. I know painting for 2 1/2 hours may seem like a long time, but it is over in a flash of sunlight!
Be sure to find out all the particulars for this exciting event at www.marylandhall.org

The Delaplaine Arts Center has a wonderful group of volunteers who run this plein air paint out where juried artists and non-juried artists can compete for prizes, and just have fun painting and sharing their work with the public. Of course, there will be an exhibit of paintings after all the fun is over. Be sure to check out what all the fun is about:

Top of the Mountain, 9 x 12"
The mountains I drive through run near the Appalachian Trail, complete with waterfalls and rocky cliffs and panoramic views.
Do you drive through some scenic byways on your daily journeys?

Bottled Up, 9 x 12"
Every person has creative energy inside them, bottled up, just waiting to come out. By focusing on what we are passionate about, we lead happier, and healthier lives. I am passionate about creating paintings with vibrant and bold color choices.
This is a still life based on a bottle collection in an artist friend's studio that ended up in one of my painting ideas. Everyone has a little bit of a hoarder in them...what do you like to collect? Do you have a collection of something that could be your inspiration for a painting? I would love to see some photos of what you collect! Who knows, it may even be an inspiration in one of my next paintings!
