There is nothing quite like sitting outside and painting. However, sitting outside and painting in Annapolis next to the waterfront is always an adventure. I like to paint boats and water, water and boats. But it is also fun to people watch, duckling watch, and seagull watch (and maybe sip a bloody Mary).
Every June, Maryland Hall and volunteers put on a wonderful event called Paint Annapolis. Juried artists come to paint for a week. But non-juried artists can come on Saturday for a special competition called Dueling Brushes. I know painting for 2 1/2 hours may seem like a long time, but it is over in a flash of sunlight!
Be sure to find out all the particulars for this exciting event at www.marylandhall.org
